Biography

Tranquille Le Prince is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 9-Right, Le Saint Remi. Listed with him is Susanne Bourque, his wife and two of their children: Isabelle and Marguerite.[1]

Isabelle was born about 1754 in Acadie. She was age 9 on the census of 9 June 1763. (see below) She is the daughter of Tranquille Prince and Susanne Bourg.

9 June 1763 :Census, Liverpool, England.[2]

On the list taken by agent George Langton at Liverpool on 7 Jun 1763, with 40 numbered family groups, who were delivered to the Sieur De La Rochette, and embarked on board "Le Sturgeon," commanded by Captain Belon, and bound for France,
21. Trachel PRIER [sic, for LEPRINCE], 41;
Chesane [sic, for Susanne] BOUDOQ [sic, for BOURG], 33;
Magdn. LA PRIER, 13;
Isabell LA PRIER, 9;
Jos. LA PRIER, 3;
Margt. LA PRIER, 3.
On the [English] roll of the 53 Acadian families detained at Liverpool, and embarked on board the royal sailing barge L'Esturgeon commanded by Sieur Louis BELON, dated 7 Jun 1763:
40. Tranquille PRINCE;
Marie Josephe PRINCE;
Madeleine PRINCE;
Isabelle PRINCE;
Marguerite PRINCE;
Joseph PRINCE.

September 1784 :Census - Morlaix, Finistère, Bretagne, France.[3]

On list of "Acadians in France, September 1784," document in A.D.S. Legajo 2575, which shows the Acadian families who want to go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty.
On list from Morlaix:
Tranquille LE PRINCE, with wife Suzanne BOURG, 2 daughters, for a total of 4 in family.

10 September 1785 :Immigration - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[4]

Isabelle LEPRINCE, age 30, daughter of Tranquille & his wife Susanne BOURG, traveling with them and a sister as the 7th family (of 4 persons) aboard the ship "Le Saint Rémi."

She died in Louisiana i7 March 1831, age 77 and was buried 8 March, 1831.[5]
